From creating in-depth automotive learning content to crafting manuals and feature-dense product reviews, I love the challenge of simplifying technical concepts into plain language for the everyday consumer.

As lead writer, I worked closely with our content strategy and UX teams to develop creative guidelines promoting user-centered experiences. I provided all category and subcategory descriptions, as well as site microcopy and UI text, and completed content reviews to ensure consistency with editorial guidelines. Throughout the project, I also took part in defining the site’s information architecture, collaborative prototyping and making iterative improvements. The work below demonstrates a typical user flow, using the Driving and Performance support topic as an example.

As the team subject matter expert on GM’s content management system, I provided regular training sessions for new employees and even clients. I wrote this user manual to help facilitate onboarding and familiarization with the CMS tool during these trainings. It provided step-by-step guidance and offered resources for additional help to speed up efficiencies. Ultimately, this manual was used in several GM markets, including South America and the Middle East.

Technical product reviews are vital for customers and manufacturers in fostering a sense of transparency and consumer trust. As part of my role with Woodland Direct, I conceptualized, researched, wrote and edited a series of product reviews like this one. Besides using SEO to help boost targeted product sales, I translated the product's specifications and features into plain language and used a scannable list format to help make the purchasing process easier.
