This Buick eNews series serves as a great example of how to make regularly timed emails stand-out in your inbox. The introductory content is fun and engaging, providing ideas for summer that also put the Buick line-up front and center. It’s also targeted to specific audience segments by their vehicle’s YMM, which allowed us to deliver personalized learning content and recommendations and make sure the right messages reached the right people.

For this testing campaign, we wanted to learn how to utilize our new audience segments most effectively and reach them with the right products and messaging. To do this, we designed a creative test to see if the brand’s existing Champion emails or our Challengers would provide better results. As the writer, I focused on providing scannable copy and a warm, approachable tone—because investing shouldn’t be complicated.

Our testing revealed that our Challenger emails brought in significantly higher product uptake rates than the Champion emails. This email above had uptake rates that went up by 201%.
